Hi all,

I'm back, and running at full speed! (ok, maybe a bit o' jet lag)
Ireland and England were great, but I'm ready to be back in Kansas.

The Belfast taxi driver, without even knowing we were from Kansas, dropped us at the airport, gestured at the sidewalk leading towards the terminal and said, "just follow the Yellow Brick Road!" He really laughed when I told him we were actually from Kansas!

Now back home, I'm on to some serious "Shop Hop prep", as October 6 will be here very soon!

My shop hop quilt, RIBBON CANDY - A CHRISTMAS TRADITION is revealed!

There are 9 shops this year. My quilt sports the 9 shop blocks plus 3 invented by me for a larger quilt.

Never done a Central Kansas Quilt Shop Hop? Click here for all the details on HOW TO HOP!

The blocks are nice & big to handle the VINTAGE CHRISTMAS POSTCARDS theme fabric.

My ribbon border is slick & easy to create using FLYING GEESE & a few HALF SQUARE TRIANGLE units.

You may PRE-ORDER a complete kit for finishing. Click here.

Or, if you want to use VINTAGE CHRISTMAS POSTCARDS fabric which you may have already pre-ordered, this quilt uses 2-1/4 yards for border + binding.

A complete pattern for finishing will be available to purchase separately.

The QUIT SHOP HOP starts in less than one month! oh my!

Meanwhile, you're welcome to come anytime, of course! ;) (see hours below)

We've got loads of new models on display, many with kits. Feel free to stop in now for a look at RIBBON CANDY - A CHRISTMAS TRADITION, as well as many other fun & cozy quilts!

If you've been thinking about making a large queen or king-size quit, next week is the first monthly meeting of our 2022-2023 year-long SAMPLER QUILT class.

This year we're using MOONLIGHT SONATA, written by Wing And A Prayer Designs.

Our beautiful finished quilt hangs in the classroom now. Come check it out!

Shown in Evening Sky fabrics, you can make it in any fabric to suit yourself!

A fan of soft pastels, forals & butterflies?

HEART OF SUMMER from Lewis & Irene is for you!

Check out this awesome PICNIC BABY QUILT using Cluck, Cluck Sew's popular woven ribbon pattern.

We've been watching the TREND in BABY QUILTS with interest. The colors just get more & more "earthy".

Another popular "woven" pattern, LIBBY, is done up here in "BoHo" earthy colors. Perfect for a baby to youth quilt. Check out our kit.

Sometimes the colors chosen by the mother-to-be are softer. That is all sorts of peach, apricot, rust, brown & tans.

Forest animals are popular too!

Click here to check out EFFIE'S WOODS by Deb Strain for MODA.

At 68 inches square, this would also make a neat baby quilt.

Randy & I spent a few days in London, but never got as far out of town as HAMPTON COURT.

I must go back, because this is stil on my list!

Like me, you may be more familiar with this than you think!

HAMPTON COURT continues to inspire lots of artists, including fabric designers. ;)

HAMPTON COURT is coming soon to Charlotte's Sew Natural!

KAREN LEWIS has used a variety of design techniques for her latest fabric line, HAMPTON COURT from FIGO FABRICS.

While we wait, read Karen's interview on Auribuzz, the AURIFIL THREAD blog. Click here.

Lovin' the AURIFIL THREAD. Select AURIFIL THREADS will be our specially priced SHOP HOP SPECIAL! All 9 Central Kansas QUILT SHOP HOP shops will have something on special just for the Hop!
